I have been contacted by several residents concerned with the state Pemberton Road has been left in following skimming of the road surface, in particular the areas around the speed humps which are consequently higher as a result.
Following this I have been in contact with the highways department and have been informed that the reason for the delay in laying the new surface is that following the skimming operation it was discovered that specialist repairs to the underlying concrete sub surface was necessary. Unfortunately the concrete repairs is a specialist operation which has taken longer to organise than was hoped.
As an interim measure the areas around the speed humps have been built up with asphalt to assist the passage of traffic.
It is expected that repairs and subsequent resurfacing will be completed within the next week or two, I will continue to monitor the situation.
