Digital Camera and Panto Tickets To Be Won

The Wirral Globe, in conjunction with Wirral Council, has launched a competition to design the official Christmas greeting card from the Mayor of Wirral. The winning design will be used for the official Mayor’s Christmas card and grace hundreds of mantelpieces and offices across the county. The runner-up’s design will be used for an online, electronic version. A selection of entries, including the winner and runner up will also be displayed at The Williamson Art Gallery in Birkenhead.

In addition, the first prize winner will receive a digital camera and the runner-up will receive a family ticket (maximum four seats) for ‘Aladdin’ at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton on December 17.

The Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Moira McLaughlin, is looking forward to helping choose the winning entry. She told the Wirral Globe: ‘I’m looking for a really Christmassy design, one that really sums up the spirit and the atmosphere of the festive season.’

The competition is open to young people who live in Wirral aged from 11-18. If your children fancy a go, their design should be up to A4 in size (although it will be printed at A5), either portrait of landscape format. They can submit as many entries as they like!

The winning entries – two will be chosen; a first and second prize winner – will be judged by the Mayor of Wirral and Leigh Marles, Editor of the Wirral Globe.

Please send your entries to: Christmas Competition, Mayor’s Parlour, Wallasey Town Hall, Brighton Street, Wirral, CH44 8ED by Tuesday 22nd November. Please remember to put your name, age and a contact telephone number on the back of your entry.

Regrettably entries cannot be returned.

Terms and conditions are posted on the Wirral Council website at www.wirral.gov.uk/christmascard
